Two suspects, a 36-year-old Toronto man, and a 17-year-old Brampton boy, are charged with several offences linked to the Tuesday night incident.

A woman was standing next to a restaurant in Vaughan when she was grabbed by an armed man who fired at a bystander, pulled into a grey SUV and held in a Barrie home until police tracked her down, according to York Regional Police.

“When a passerby attempted to intervene, the suspect fired a shot towards him and fled the scene in the SUV driven by another suspect,” the release said. The woman was taken to hospital with injuries and later released; the two suspects were arrested, the release said.
