Police say a 31-year-old woman stormed the stage toward the end of the service and began waving a gun at congregants.

A woman with a baby in San Diego waved a gun and threatened to blow up a church, police said. By Meagan Flynn Meagan Flynn Morning Mix reporter Email Bio Follow April 21 at 11:54 PM A woman waving a gun and holding a baby was tackled to the ground by congregants after interrupting an Easter service in San Diego and threatening to blow up the church, police said Sunday.

One eyewitness told San Diego News 10 that she told the congregation that “everyone is going to hell.”David Miller, a Navy service member, was among them. He told KABC that as a group of men approached Conkey, she pointed her gun at them — and then at the 10-month-old baby in her arms, telling them not to come any closer.

Conkey, who was a former intern and digital producer with NBC 7 in San Diego, sent the station an email shortly before the incident, the station reported. “There’s a woman claiming to be the Messiah, saying she was sent to blow up the foundation of the Church — she’s got a gun and a child is involved,” the email said.
