Mercy crews swarmed St Vincent Street, Pitt Street, Elmbank Street and Elderslie Street last night.
A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being 'struck' by a car in Glasgow city centre - just half an hour after a pedestrian died in a similar incident in the same area.
The victim has still not been identified and extensive enquiries are now underway to find out who she is and notify her family. Cops say she is aged between 35-45 years old, has light brown/blond hair and was wearing a light cream coloured jacket. The road had to be closed for several hours while crash scene investigators probed the two events, but has since reopened.
