‘Terrifying and surreal’: Woman dies in Whiskey Creek house fire despite neighbours’ attempts to save herOne person is dead following a house fire in Whiskey Creek early Wednesday morning.
“We were there for quite a while, watching for hotspots, making sure everything got cleaned up,” he said.“An update will be provided once the investigation has determined the cause of both the fire and death of the person located at the scene.”Phillip Tiicham Muir recalled hearing strange noises before falling asleep Tuesday night, moments before he realized there was a fire next door.
Phillip says while he spoke with the 911 operator, his wife ran towards the flames worried their neighbour was still inside. “She called out for [their neighbour], and thought she could hear her voice and her moving around,” he said.
