The 67-year-old woman, who did not attend provincial court personally when her case was called Tuesday, Jan. 17, has chosen to be tried by a jury in Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court if she is committed to stand trial, which will be determined during a day-long preliminary hearing June 9. She’s facing three charges, including sexual assault and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
The charges stem from alleged incidents in St. John’s over a 12-year period beginning in 1997. The couple is reportedly no longer living in Newfoundland and Labrador.
