Goodyear police have arrested a woman who struck and killed a 71-year-old man and his 11-year-old dog near Bullard Avenue and Indian School Road on Saturday. STORY:
GOODYEAR, AZ — Goodyear police say an elderly man and his dog were killed after a hit-and-run accident Saturday morning.
Goodyear Fire Department officials say it happened just south of Bullard Avenue and Indian School Road. The pedestrian, 71-year-old Thomas Stenoien, and his family dog, 11-year-old"Judge" were both struck and killed.Joyner faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of the crash. Police say multiple witnesses remained on the scene to help, while some witnesses say they saw a suspicious vehicle pull into a private parking lot.
Bullard Avenue was closed between Encanto Boulevard and Catalina Drive as the crash is investigated. The road reopened around 3:45 p.m.
