One woman alleges that Mayor Ron Nirenberg's office had her involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital for three days after she tried to file a complaint and began crying.

Maintenance worker Maria Villegas said she felt her neck pop and had to go to the doctor after her male supervisor pulled her hair at work. A male witness corroborated her story, according to the lawsuit, and it was caught on a security camera. Lynn Ellenberger of FeganScott, the firm representing the women, said this was filed as a class-action lawsuit because it’s likely that the abuse was directed toward more than just Villegas and Schneuker.
