Woman, 56, on life support after crashing electric bike into shopping cart abandoned in bike lane [Breaking]
Police said the woman was riding a bike without a helmet in the westbound bike lane on Friars Road when she “failed to recognize” an abandoned shopping cart on its side in the lane. She hit the cart and the impact sent her flying over her handlebars and she landed on her head, police said.When witnesses approached her she was having convulsions and was spitting up blood, police said.
She was transported to the hospital and was reported to be breathing but unresponsive. She sustained a brain bleed and was placed on life support, police said.
