Quadra Island RCMP found the woman’s body Jan. 16 during a wellness check.
A homicide on Quadra Island is under investigation by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.
Quadra Island RCMP went to a residence Jan. 16 to conduct a wellness check on a 39-year-old woman and found her dead inside. The Major Crime Unit and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section began gathering evidence that indicated the death was criminal in nature. “Investigators believe this incident was targeted,” said B.C. RCMP spokesman Cpl. Alex Bérubé. “This incident was isolated and investigators do not believe there is any further risk to the public.”
