Angels manager Phil Nevin says this year's team is better equipped to bounce back from a tailspin than last year's squad that missed the playoffs.
Phil Nevin was once known for his hot temper. The interim Angels manager has harnessed the passion and now hopes to lead the team to success.“I know we are a much better team than what we had last year,” he said. “We are in a better position.... We go on one little nice run, which we are capable of doing, and we are right back in this deal.”“I’m not saying we aren’t in it,” he continued. “We are. We got to play better.”.
Adell was called up from triple A Friday to replace center fielder Mike Trout, who is out for four to eight weeks after fracturing his left wrist. Now Adell is in limbo along with third baseman Anthony Rendon and outfielder Taylor Ward , not joining the 14 Angels on the injured list, but not healthy either. It’s painful, but Bill Plaschke argues the Angels have no chance of retaining Shohei Ohtani and must trade him to get as much as possible in return.
