Tickets for YES Theatre-STC production have been selling well, with opening evening even selling out
YES Theatre is presenting “The Wizard of Oz: In Concert” at the Sudbury Theatre Centre this weekend with a 20-piece orchestra and more than 20 actors, and they’re already sold out for tonight’s show.
This is YES Theatre’s first concert series ever since announcing their partnership with the STC and the cast is feeling pumped to put out a show after hours of rehearsals and preparations. “So in many ways, it feels quite serendipitous that is happening now under this collaboration. It's also glorious to have so many people in the building again. We have a team of musicians, we have a cast of over 20 actors, crew and our technicians. There's day camps happening right now with young people in musical theater and acting camps, so it just feels really wonderful. There's a lot of vitality in theatre again.
“What I love most about it is the kind of friendship that the scarecrow and Dorothy and the tinman and the lion establish. So this really is a story of four friends who kind of accept each other and love each other,” Costantini said.
