The Wired4Women Awards are calling for nominations of exceptional female ICT students at the tertiary level to recognize their outstanding achievements in South Africa's tech sector. Nominations are open until the deadline, and the winner will be announced at the Awards Banquet on April 3rd.
The Wired4Women Awards are celebrating the outstanding achievements of women in South Africa 's tech sector across 13 categories. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better than last year, with an expanded reach and a renewed focus on recognizing the exceptional talent within the female ICT student population. The competition is open to all female ICT students at the tertiary level, and nominations are being actively sought from the academic and IT communities.
The winner of the Top Tech Student category, sponsored by Openserve, will receive a generous R30 000 cash prize.Candidates will be evaluated based on several criteria, including their extracurricular engagement, which may involve applying technology in ways beyond their academic studies. To be considered, nominees should submit their latest academic records, an endorsement from their relevant academic supervisor or mentor, and any additional evidence of their achievements. These documents can be emailed to the judging panel. The esteemed panel, comprised of Wired4Women board members, Openserve representatives, ITWeb editors, and academic experts, will conduct a thorough selection process. Following the announcement of the finalists in late February, a rigorous adjudication process will determine the winner. The highly anticipated announcement of the winner will take place at the Wired4Women Awards Banquet on 3 April at The Forum in Hyde Park, Johannesburg
