The Weather Network says 'low-elevation snowfall' is possible in Vancouver and the cold could last up to two weeks.
Following an extended stretch of milder, wet weather, a blast of cold Arctic air will soon bring temperatures several degrees below seasonal averages in Metro Vancouver.
Meteorologist Tyler Hamilton explains how the "Arctic taps will drain right into western Canada" with some "temperature anomalies" to finish off February that could see temperatures falling south of 10 C below seasonal averages. Low-elevation snowfall is expected to reach B.C.'s south coast as temperatures plummet across the Lower Mainland.
How long will the frigid temperatures last in the Metro Vancouver weather forecast? The frosty spell is expected to commence Tuesday and continue through until at least the end of the week, Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon told V.I.A. in a previous interview.
