Snow of up to 12 inches is expected in Wisconsin, while parts of Iowa could get up to 10 inches, according to The National Weather Service.

"Travel could be very difficult. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute," it added.

Door County, Outagamie County, Brown County, Kewaunee County, Waushara County and Winnebago County, as well as the cities of Green Bay, Redgranite, Menasha, Neenah, Sister Bay, Wautoma, Fish Creek, Oshkosh, Sturgeon Bay, Kewaunee, Luxemburg, and Appleton are also affected between 3 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday.

"Winds gusting 30 to 45 mph may lead to considerable blowing and drifting snow. The snow may transition to a period of rain from late evening into the early overnight hours," it said.
