With an exterior body length of 15.0 feet, 9.0 inches, the Hike 100 is a few feet shorter than the Winnebago Hike, which measures 20.0 feet, 7.5 inches. Its narrow-body width is the same as the Hike at 7.0 feet, 9.0 inches, as is its full-height exterior at 10.0 feet, 2 inches. Its dry weight comes in at 2,700 pounds, and it has a GVWR of 4,200 pounds .There's no shame in adventuring in small travel trailers.
The Hike 100 has 31.0 gallons of freshwater, 4.75 gallons of blackwater, and 25.0 gallons of gray water storage. We like the greater allocation to gray water than black, as gray tanks almost always fill up faster. It has a small 6.0-gallon water heater, 18,000-BTU furnace, 13.5K low profile roof air conditioner, a standard 190-watt solar panel , and a standard 20.0 pound propane tank. The Hike 100 rolls on 16-inch off-road Goodyear Endurance tires and touts an axle lift for good clearance.
The bottom line is that a small trailer like the Winnebago Hike 100 gives you what you really need: shelter from the elements and a place to sleep. Unfortunately, small travel trailers still cost a lot, and in some cases you pay more for the convenience of compactness. Prices for the Hike 100 have not been listed yet on Winnebago's website, but it'll probably run just slightly south of the larger Hike, which starts at $29,605.
