The Met Office has warned of strong winds
Gusts of up to 40mph are set to hit Nottinghamshire today as the UK gets hit with stormy. Met Office forecasters predict the worst of the weather will arrive in the county by 11am on Tuesday, September 19.
Forecasters are predicting heavy rain in the county throughout the morning and into the early afternoon, with the evening being mainly cloudy and overcast. According to the Met Office's latest forecast, gusts of 40mph will arrive around 11am and will be around 39mph by 10am. In its overall forecast for the East Midlands, the Met Office says today will be 'unsettled with rain and strong winds'. A spokesperson added: "Feeling very unsettled with wet, windy and cloudy conditions expected throughout the day. Rain may be persistent and heavy at times, particularly over the Peak District, especially during the morning. Maximum temperature 18C.
