But it’s hard to be too down when those four losses were by five combined runs. Just needed a breakthrough.
Willis ace Kynlei Chapman pitched the complete-game, struck out 14, took a no-hitter into the sixth, but also ran into some issues with eight walks and a hit batter.“I’m just happy,” Chapman said afterwards of snapping the losing streak. ‘I haven’t felt like this in a couple weeks.”“That was a huge win for us,” Willis assistant coach Leechelle Lara said. “I think it’s been right there. Our defense has been playing really well and Kynlei has been pitching pretty well.
“Addie had been out the past couple games with an ankle injury,” Lara said. “So it was nice to get her back in there.” The Grizzlies then scored twice in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run single by pitcher Kourtney Bellnger.
