The saga of Devi Vishwakumar's high school career finally comes to a close with, which officially dropped on Netflix today, June 8. Still, some fans might be wondering what happens after the graduation caps are thrown and the newly anointed college freshman move into their dorms? It'll pain some to hear that, unfortunately, there will be no Season 5 of the beloved coming-of-age comedy.would be renewed for the show's fourth and final season back in March 2022.

A spin-off series may especially make sense as her trio of besties—Fabiola , Eleanor , and Aneesa —embark on their post-high school journeys."I absolutely would consider doing that if there was a demand," she said in an interview with. "I've never thought about a spinoff actually.
When asked which character she'd most be interested in exploring for a potential spin-off, Kaling selected Trent , Paxton's air-headed best friend and Eleanor's puppy dog boyfriend. "Honestly, he's so funny to me," Kalin explained. "He really makes me laugh, so finding out [more about] Trent and seeing what his haircare routine is every morning. I would definitely watch that show. I'd definitely like to write that show.
