Hollywood A-lister Will Ferrell is reportedly poised to be unveiled as a shareholder in Leeds United in the coming days after acquiring a 'large stake' in the Elland Road club
It is fair to say Hollywood A-lister Will Ferrell has been fascinated with the Premier League and English football for some time. The Anchorman, Elf and Step Brothers, who is reportedly buying a "large stake" in Leeds United, has attended several matches in this country in recent years.
Ferrell, the co-owner of Los Angeles FC in the Major League Soccer Franchise, is close pals with Wrexham owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. He made an appearance in their hit documentary 'Welcome to Wrexham' in 2023.Ferrell appeared on Sky Sports last year, with fans enjoying his cameo ahead of Manchester City's clash with Aston Villa. He said he watched a "fair amount" of football and denied being a Chelsea supporter.
It emerged overnight that Ferrell has reportedly bought a large stake in United as the Championship club prepare for the play-offs. The Whites are potentially three matches away from sealing a Premier League return. The American, who has an estimated net worth of £127m, is poised to join the likes of golf stars Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook and Hollywood legend Russell Crowe as an investor in United.
