Wildfire in Wharton State Forest between Camden and Burlington counties 100% contained: officials

The County Line Fire is now 100% contained after starting in Waterford Township in Camden County and spread into Shamong Township, Burlington County.

As firefighters put water on the flames, they also used backfiring operations, which means they set controlled fires to burn up fuel to keep the wildfire from spreading. Officials say it only takes a few days of dry weather like we've seen recently to create prime fire conditions. Firefighters are looking ahead to the summer and are hoping people will be careful with any flames when they're in wooded areas.
