Judge Gravell apologizes and retracts claims about poll incident.

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell issued a public apology and retracted previous statements against Dr. Laura Pressley, following a review of conflicting accounts regarding an incident where an election worker had a heart attack at the Leander Public Library polling location.

Gravell initially claimed Dr. Pressley's actions "nearly cost someone their life" during a medical emergency at the polling site. However, after reviewing correspondence from Pressley’s attorney, Gravell acknowledged the presence of conflicting accounts regarding the event. The incident in question involved an alternate judge at the polling station suffering a heart attack, an emergency to which poll workers and volunteers promptly responded. Dr. Pressley and her group were accused of interfering with the emergency response, allegations they denied, stating they were questioning election clerks on compliance matters unrelated to the incident.

Gravell, after receiving a letter requesting a retraction of his statements, conceded there were "two sides to this story," offering an apology to Dr. Pressley and retracting his October 30th email publicly. He emphasized his respect for all parties involved and his intent to provide copies of the retraction to all originally copied on the contentious email.

He also addressed confusion about his call for an investigation, clarifying he had no authority to direct law enforcement and that any ongoing inquiries were initiated independently by the agencies.
