Wife in the dock: Court admits damning voice messages in Nelson Mandela Bay murder trial
Gideon van Eck, who was killed - allegedly by his wife - on their Kariega farm in Nelson Mandela Bay two years ago, was a man who gave his heart and soul towards serving the community, a close friend claimed.
The friend spoke to News24 on condition of anonymity outside the Kariega Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after the accused, Natasha van Eck, appeared for judgment on an interlocutory application filed by her lawyer to prevent specific evidence from being placed on record. Van Eck's application was unsuccessful, and the court ruled that voice messages sent by Gideon to his sister a few months before he was killed were admissible and may be presented in trial.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
