Will the movie keep the original Wicked poster?

Making its Broadway premiere in 2003, Wicked centers on two Wizard of Oz witches, the green-skinned Elphaba and the beautiful Glinda as they develop a childhood friendship before Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda becomes the Good Witch.
Though Wicked is originally based on the Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the upcoming Wicked movie will be based on the Broadway musical. Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked boasts a starry cast including Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblum, and Michelle Yeoh. But the most hype is around the movie's two leads, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande .
Currently, Wicked's IMDb page features that poster, though it's unclear if it will be the official poster for the movie. If it is, there's instant brand recognition, which is a huge advantage. Casual moviegoers may not even be aware a Wicked movie is coming out, but they've likely heard of the musical, and may be encouraged to buy a ticket.
Social Media Didn't Love The Wicked Movie's First Look Images In April, 2023, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande took to Instagram to reveal first looks at their Wicked characters. Both were wide-shot images with their respective characters in the center. Ervio's Elphaba, dressed in black and wearing a pointed witch's hat, holds a broom while she turns her face from the camera, with only a hint of green skin showing.
With social media's response to the first-look Wicked images largely skewing negative, director Jon M. Chu was quick to hop onto X to assuage fans' concerns. He shared a well-lit image of the beautiful, brightly colored Wicked set, assuringly stating, "Don’t worry we still have a year and half to show you our colors!" Hopefully, the Wicked movie poster will be just as spectacular.
