Last week's ruling by the North Gauteng High Court gave the go-ahead for pharmacists to prescribe anti-HIV drugs.

Yet, says Gray, someone who doesn't use the public health system can now choose to go to a private pharmacy instead - even if they have to pay for the pills themselves .
