Dudum named three major factors about the current state of GLP-1 prescriptions that have given him pause about rolling out a weight-management program at Hims right now — from a lack of evidence of how GLP-1s can affect patients long term, to disruptions in access to the drugs with drug shortages, and unreliable insurance coverage.Dudum expressed concerns about the lack of data on long-term GLP-1 usage for weight loss.
"We're still in the very early innings with regard to what it means long-term, frankly because there have been no patients that have taken this drug long term for obesity," he said.
