Grand Admiral Thrawn's return changes everything.

Thrawn has yet to make his live-action debut in Ahsoka, which will represent a major chapter in the history of a character who debuted in Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire Legends novel.
Thrawn would return to the known worlds years later, with the galaxy now ruled by the Empire. When Thrawn was brought in front of Emperor Palpatine, the Sith Lord knew exactly who he was dealing with thanks to what Anakin Skywalker had once said about the Chiss strategist. Thrawn joined the Empire under very unique circumstances, a mutual agreement that would benefit both Palpatine and the Chiss.
In Star Wars Rebels season 3, Thrawn failed at defeating Phoenix Squad and the other rebel cells, but not without causing major losses on their side. In addition, Thrawn could have destroyed Lothal and broken the spirit of the rebels had Ezra not sacrificed himself to stop the Grand Admiral. Grand Admiral Thrawn has an incredible intellect and perceives war almost as a twisted form of art. Trawn is always several steps ahead – or beside – his opponents.
