We are just hours away from the Rugby World Cup final and still there has been no confirmation of the actual prize money total.
The global body isn’t exactly top of the list when it comes to transparency on matters as wide ranging as player discipline and the performance of match officials.World Rugby typically pays Rugby World Cup prize money in installments and doesn’t disclose the figures to the general public.Because of differences in how the unions would divest the total prize money it is also unclear what kind of bonuses players in the winning squad can expect.
In addition the runners-up are reportedly set to receive a sum of £2.5m or a little more than R57 million. These figures are based on numbers published across several reputable sources. However none of these figures have been confirmed by World Rugby.
