"Increased levels of hormones may lead us to feeling a little drowsy," Shortt said."Some researchers suggest that increased levels of the hormone serotonin cause this. So, while it can’t be said for certain, a boost in serotonin levels after eating could be responsible for that horrible groggy feeling.
