When Kelsey Grammer's Frasier returns in the Frasier reboot, he will be without Niles. Here's the reason why David Hyde Pierce isn't in the revival.

Kelsey Grammer's iconic character starts his fourth act in his old haunt — Boston. Armed with experiences and knowledge, Frasier aims to make the next several years of his life worth it as he prioritizes what's really important to him — family.
Pierce's stance on the Frasier reboot shouldn't be surprising, however. He has long been vocal against the idea. In 2017, before any concrete news about the revival existed, he was clear about not wanting to do any kind of revival. At that point, he didn't think that Frasier would ever get the reboot treatment anyway. Five years later in 2022, Pierce doubled down on his sentiments, saying that the original show was far too important for him to just flippantly decide on revisiting it.
