The main defendant in the R47 million 2010 Fifa World Cup police accommodation scandal has asked why Bheki Cele has not been charged along with him. He also wants the court to strike the case off the roll due to what he claims has been an unfair process.
Businessperson Thoshan Panday told City Press that it seemed the law was being applied selectively, as Cele – who signed off the tender documents – was never charged.
