'Whoever gets charged knows they have to step aside,' says Motlanthe on state capture accused Kodwa

Former deputy president Kgalema Montlanthe is the latest heavyweight to campaign for the ANC ahead of the May general elections.

Former deputy president Kgalema Motlanthe says the ANC's step-aside policy is clear that once formally charged, members must step down from their positions and be relieved of their responsibilities. "There are rules and guidelines in the ANC, and as you know, there is even the step-aside rule, so whoever gets charged formally knows that they have to step aside from any positions of responsibility that they occupy," he said.
