Liverpool's third-choice goalkeeper, Vitezslav Jaros, was given his Premier League debut during Saturday's match against Crystal Palace. Alisson suffered a suspected muscle injury while dealing with a backpass from Trent Alexander-Arnold . The Reds had no choice but to call upon Jaros after regular backup Caoimhin Kelleher was absent due to illness. The 23-year-old stepped up at a critical point in the game.
His only previous senior experience came during loan spells, including a stint with Austrian champions Sturm Graz last season that earned him a place in the Czech Republic's Euro 2024 squad. Jaros' stint in Graz marked his fourth loan spell away from Anfield , following his first at Irish club St Patrick's Athletic in 2021 where he was the main goalkeeper. He also had stints at lower-league English clubs Stockport County and Notts County in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
