With the win, Winnipeg improved its Western Hockey League record this season to 36-9-2-2. Saskatoon slipped to 29-18-3-1. The Blades will once again try to reach the 30-win mark this season when they play host to the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday night. Trevor Wong, with a pair of goals, and Noah Boyko scored for Saskatoon, which went 0-for-3 on the power play. Wong continued his scoring streak to 11 games in which he has eight goals and nine assists.

Matthew Savoie tallied twice for Winnipeg, which was 1-for-3 on the power play. Jack Finley also scored for the Ice, which out-shot the host squad 19-11 through the third period and OT.Josh Pillar played in only his fourth game with the Blades since being acquired from the Kamloops Blazers in January. Pillar remains pointless with his new club, registering two shots through four games.
