Events will be going on across the county
Charles III will be crowned King of Great Britain on Saturday, May 6, in a historic event in the ancient Westminster Abbey that will be broadcast all over the globe. The momentous weekend will be marked in towns and communities across the UK.
Friday, May 5 Cogenhoe- Cogenhoe Primary Kings and Queens Parade: From 2pm, Cogenhoe Primary School is holding a parade of Kings and Queens wearing their handmade crowns. The school choir will sing a selection of royal songs including the national anthem. Food from the local cafe will be available for adults.
Alongside all the main stage entertainment, guests will enjoy Punch & Judy shows, bubble stations and shows, free face painting, walkabout characters, stilt walkers, balloon modelling and so much more! From 2pm in Peace Park, Market Road. Titchmarsh- Live-stream of the Coronation: Titchmarsh Parish Council will live-stream the Coronation service on the big screen in the Church with light refreshments - including bacon butties - and a complimentary glass of fizz to mark the occasion.
Higham Ferrers- Coronation Big Lunch: Bring your own picnic to The Big Lunch in Higham Ferrers. On Sunday 7th May 2023 from 12noon to 3pm. We will be joined by a brass band and other entertainment. A very limited number of chairs and tables will be available so please bring your own where you possibly can.
Crick- Coronation Street Party: Community celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III on Church Street. Attendees are asked to bring tables, chairs and a picnic. The road will be closed with the Pub and Club open and children’s games and activities will be held. Bilton Silver Band will play 2.15 to 3pm and 3.30 to 4.15.
