At 9:39 a.m. ET, the White House Press Office said that senior national security officials briefed Biden, and that"the President will continue to receive updates and White House officials remain in close contact with Israeli partners." In a since-deleted tweet, the United States Office of Palestinian Affairs wrote that the White House urges"all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks," as"terror and violence solve nothing." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he spoke on the phone with Biden, whom he says expressed his support for Israel's right to defend itself, but it took until 11:06 a.m.
