As of Thursday, the Circleville Police Department is running without permanent leadership.
Both submitted their resignations as part of the agreement, and the city is spending tens of thousands of dollars on severance.Turmoil erupted on Circleville City Council after it approved an agreement allowing Baer to retire and Davis to resign.
This agreement also stops any investigations into Baer's and Davis's alleged actions to the tune of $180,000.On top of that, both agreements also state the city will stop any internal investigation into the allegations of potential misconduct. The city had already paid a law firm $50,000 for two investigations. It's not clear if that money will be returned., there would have been things found that they didn't want found,' Ginger Wright told WSYX, who lives in Circleville.
WSYX also asked Governor Mike DeWine's office, and it says what's happening is a "local matter beyond state jurisdiction at this stage."
