More heavy snowfall is expected across Lancashire on Friday with the Met Office continuing to warn of safety risks.
Over in Cumbria, the extent of the issue was seen as National Highways decided to close the A66 near Scotch Corner yesterday. Elsewhere, traffic was brought to a standstill on the M62 in the early hours of Friday morning due to the heavy snow with drivers stuck for several hours.More snowfall is expected to continue through today, though parts of Blackpool and Fleetwood on the coast are not affected by either weather warning.
Blackpool - Snow and sleet are expected overnight, albeit with only a brief period of heavy snow at around 3am. Five hours of light snow are expected after that. Accrington - Snow is expected until around 8am on Friday, with overcast and then cloudy conditions with sunny intervals forecast for the rest of the day.
