The Giants quarterback, nursing a neck injury, will miss his third game on Sunday
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones answers questions after practice on Wednesday July 26, 2023, at Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, N.J.coach was unwilling to make that same statement before practice Friday after telling reporters that Jones would miss his third straight game with a neck injury.
“ getting better and we’ll see where he is next week,” Daboll said . “I don’t have a crystal ball with injuries, but he is getting better and we’ll see where is next week.Jones has said repeatedly this injury is different than the neck injury he sustained in Week 12 of the 2021 season against the Philadelphia Eagles. The pattern, however, has been similar, which is why Daboll and Jones are continually questioned about the quarterback’s status.
Daboll said Jones, for the second straight week, is taking reps with the scout team, but not the first-team offense.
