The new function will feature inverted colours designed to lessen the harmful blue screen light and is 'designed to reduce eye strain in low light environments', according to a Whatsapp spokesperson. Any user of the instant messaging app will have noted the brightness of the colours used throughout the app, compared to the fairly muted default settings of iPhone and Android
, the company had this in mind when developing the latest software. They also focused on varying 'colour and other design elements to make sure the most important information stands out.'
