The highly anticipated Budget speech is being delivered in the House of Commons today and will be broadcast live
The Budget will take place today as Chancellor Rachel Reeves addresses the House of Commons shortly after Sir Keir Starmer wraps up Prime Minister’s Questions. The Budget speech is due to begin at around 12.30pm and is expected to last roughly an hour.
After Sunak’s response, MPs will debate the Budget but after discussion in the house today, the process can eventually last several days. The government will then be able to introduce the Finance Bill which will put the changes into law.
