Since that announcement from the club, reports have suggested that the United hierarchy is split regarding Greenwood's future with them, with some believing he should return to the first team while others disagree.
While it remains to be seen what decision the Red Devils will take on the forward, Ten Hag is now said to have made contact with the 21-year-old, according to“Mason has spent a long time with very little – if any – contact from the club," a source is said to have told the British publication."So for the manager to call him was a big step for him and one he really appreciated.
"The manager enquired how he was feeling physically and mentally, and said he was pleased the charges had been dropped."But he was clear it will be the club rather than him which will decide if Mason can play for United again."
