Seth Burkett, the public information officer for the North Region of the Alabama Department of Transportation, said movement is imminent.”If it holds to current scheduling, the contract could be awarded by late winter,” Burkett wrote via email, “so, we might see construction starting in spring or early summer.”
The project will add two lanes to approximately 4 miles of I-565, from west of County Line Road to east of Wall Triana Highway. Anticipated cost between $30 million and $35 million.
