ECHO writer, Ryan Paton, attended a special screening of the new Disney + documentary series
The eyes of the entertainment industry were once again on Liverpool this week as The Real Wagatha Story arrived on Disney +.
The 37-year-old from Croxteth heaped praise on Merseyside as she explained why she was relieved to get the event in the Capital out of the way before coming home. She said: "I thought I can't wait, I'm gonna relax. I'm going to have the screening in Liverpool, a place I love with all my friends and family."
The Real Wagatha Story may not have any massively new revelations but the blow-by-blow workings of how Coleen laid the Scousetrap remains fascinating and it was interesting to hear in her words how she concocted false stories to lure in the person selling stories about her. The importance of this social media account during a time when she was vulnerable probably adds to the sense of betrayal Coleen felt to see the information leaked - and provides an insight of why she went through such great lengths to expose the person selling stories about her. Coleen's mum, Colette Mcloughlin, was the standout star of the documentary and was one of the many talking heads interviewed to stress how one of Coleen's defining qualities is how family orientated she is.
Of course, members of the press were in attendance, in addition to recognisable faces such as Danielle Lloyd, Jordan Pickford and Jason Manford . However, many of the Rooneys' family and friends also attended the event and watched the documentary together in another screen in the cinema, which added a slightly different vibe to the post drinks reception after the show.
