Make sure your wrapping paper and gift bags are going in the correct bin
Christmas morning is right around the corner and thousands of Sudburians will be tearing open gifts on Dec. 25.
After the gifts have all been opened, the inevitable mountain of gift wrap, gift bags and tissue paper will be left behind, so make sure you're following the city's recycling guidelines this holiday season. Non-metallic and non-plastic wrapping paper can all go into your blue recycling bin, and all bows, ribbons and ties must be removed. Paper gift bags can go in the blue bin as well, and the city advises that plastic or string handles be removed before tossing the bags in your bin.
For more information on waste collection schedules, pick up day reminders, as well as landfill and recycling centre locations and hours, visit the city's Waste Wise website, or get the Waste Wise app on Google Play or the App Store by searching for “Greater Sudbury Waste Wise.”
