Common sense, private sector involvement, a broader tax base, good legislation and steady hands are some items on economists' post-election wish lists, no matter the outcome of the voting.
"I would like to see the focus shift to boosting economic growth, and that the government quickly recognises the need to involve SA's robust private sector and unlock investment which has been lagging in recent years," Jee-A van der Linde, senior economist at Oxford Economics, said.
