That the coronation and Eurovision aren’t all that different is not the hot take I ever expected to come up with, but hear me out. They’re both long awaited. They’ll both draw in global audiences. They’ll both see a certain section of the population celebrating with, while the counterpart talks about how unbearably cringe they find it. And yes, both events are costing an arm and a leg and are, perhaps, somewhat over the top in their displays.
