The Westerns Springs Village Board selected Amy Avakian as a new Village Trustee at its Monday meeting.
Amy Avakian was selected as a new Western Springs Village Trustee by the Village Board at its Monday meeting.
Avakian fills the Trustee role held by Heidi Rudolph. Rudolph was elected by the Board as Acting Village President in April, after the sudden death of Village President Alice Gallagher.Avakian grew up in Hinsdale, attended Hinsdale Central High School, and completed an undergraduate degree from the School of Business at Indiana University, according to a news release. Her career began in the financial industry in downtown Chicago, where she worked for 10 years.
After starting a family, Avakian returned to the western suburbs and launched her real estate career in 2003, the release said. She is very involved in the community, the local school districts, social clubs, as well as charitable organizations.
A second new trustee, Phil Nawrocki, is set to be sworn in at the May 22 Board meeting, the release said. Nawrocki was elected during April’s consolidated election, as were incumbents Nicole Chen and Al Fink, who will also be sworn in at that meeting.
