West Ham haven't lived up to the hype this season - and relegation suddenly beckons ✒️ danielstorey85 via iPaperSport
The resentment of this season is that grand ambition has been laid to waste. Last summer, only Manchester United and Chelsea had a higher net spend on transfer fees in England.
None of this has worked. The season started with Moyes strangely fearful to put trust in his new signings to start. It continued with those signings either picking up injuries, struggling to justify the hype or both. Which all speaks to the deeper truth here, a series of lamentable missed chances and mistimed decisions. This, more than Moyes’ own performance, is what irks West Ham supporters most.
