A group of residents from a car home in Wellingborough have said how "flattered" they are at becoming winners of a nationwide art competition. Their piece of art was chosen amongst 60 entries to feature in a calendar and an online gallery.
Nearly 60 Anchor care homes across the country entered the competition, with residents at Bilton Court amongst the 12 winners with their lively collage of colourful flowers set within a vase. The theme of the competition was ‘Field of Flowers’, and was judged by a panel of Anchor colleagues.Beatrice Mann, 90, said: “I’ve always liked the arts and feel very flattered that our artwork was chosen to be part of the Anchor calendar.
Anchor says arts are a central part of the activity programmes across their care homes. Whether it’s a painting session, crafting activity, live music performance or dance class, residents can try new forms of art or hone their artistic talents throughout the year.
