Sir Mark accepted much of the condemnation of the force in the report but continues to deny that misogyny, racism or homophobia are “institutional” within the Met.
“For a big proportion of people, it means something entirely different, which isn’t what she [Casey] means, and that’s why I stood away from it.” “We’re making progress on that through training, through moving people, putting more officers back into communities and strengthening what we’re doing there, through improving it practically day by day.”
